Home for Christmas House Tour: Be Inspired!

By Hannelore Volpe

Find out what’s trendy and get lots of seasonal home decorating ideas this weekend at the Stouffville Home for Christmas House Tour.

On Friday evening, Nov. 1 and on Saturday, Nov. 2, the doors of six professionally-decorated homes are open to visitors on the self-guided tour, which also features two brand-new Holiday Boutiques. Offering a large array of seasonal items and crafts, the Boutiques at Willow Springs Winery and Latcham Hall are ideal for getting a head start on your Christmas shopping, or even better, buying something for yourself!
The tour has raised more than $250,000 over the past eight years for The Jennifer Ashleigh Foundation, and the Able Network which has called Latcham Hall home for the past year.
The Friday evening twilight home tour and cocktail reception at Willow Springs Winery runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., while boutique shopping hours are from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person.
The Saturday day tour, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes boutique shopping at Willow Springs Winery. and Latcham Hall.  Enjoy free Tim Hortons coffee while checking out the Bake Sale at Latcham Hall which accompanies the Holiday Boutique. Tickets are $30 per person.
This year, Carolyn Dobson and Sarah Carrick head up the committee of volunteers, which works with local designers, the homeowners who graciously open their homes to visitors and numerous local sponsors to make this community event a reality.
If you purchase tickets on-line from stouffvillechristmashometour.ca, you can pick them up at Willow Springs Winery, 5572 Bethesda Rd. (east of Hwy. 48) on the day of the tour.
Tickets can also be purchased for cash only from Stouffville Canadian Tire, Candlelight and Memories Fine Gifts & Tea Room, Red Bulb Espresso Bar, and Kate’s Garden in Markham.
